Designer Spotlight – indieNC showcases the best of North Carolinian design!
One of the best things about the indie community is the coming together of so many talented artists. There is strength in numbers, and by combining the emerging talent of North Carolina under one crafty roof, indieNC has created an indie boutique filled with some of the Wonder Women of craft.
Indie co-ops are like malls for the digital age (but with cooler finds and no cookie cutter products). At indieNC, one can find jewelry, accessories, pet items, apparel and housewares that showcase the best of North Carolinian design.
The Patterned Satin Ribbon Bracelet from designer Are You Decent? Combines a mother of pearl buckle with luscious satin ribbon, making for a bracelet that is both feminine and fashionable.
Designer Michelle Smith, the founder and proprietess of indieNC, offers some lovely housewares, such as this .
The icing on the cake for me is the fact that indieNC also offers trunk shows and workshops, so you can both interact with the roster of talented designers in the collective, as well as learn some of your own crafty tricks of the trade. In short, indieNC is an inspired(and inspiring) addition to the indie world that puts its money where its mouth is when it comes to building and supporting the members of their community.
